Bazin‘s Mexican Concept Restaurant
Patrick and Julie Bazin are pleased to announce the opening their newest restaurant, Alegria. This 55 seat restaurant located next door to their original restaurant Bazin‘s on Church. www.bazinsonchurch.com. Located on historic Church Street in Vienna, Alegria‘s menu offers a diverse selection of small plate authentic Mexican foods. Patrick Bazin and his staff have created a menu which retains the integrity of traditional Mexican but expands on the flavors to provide a more contemporary cuisine.
The design and decor of their new restaurant offer patrons a trendy yet sophisticated ambiance in which to dine. Guests are able to view the food preparation as it is prepared in an open kitchen in the back of the restaurant. The full service Alegria bar offers a large variety of tequilas as well as speciality margaritas, cocktails, sangrias and Mexican beers. Outdoor dining is available.
The Bazins reached out to their facebook followers and friends when deciding on a name for their latest culinary venture. Alegria in English means happiness and joy. A number of reasons were behind the decision to open a Mexican themed restaurant. While living and working in Chicago, Patrick frequented Rick Bayless’ Frontera Grill Restaurant and had hands on experience working for 2 days in his kitchen which ignited a passion for Mexican cooking.
Upon moving to Washington, DC, Patrick honed his skills as chef at the former Red Sage Restaurant. Other things that led to the decision were the passion and talents of the Bazin kitchen staff as well as Mexican cuisine being a personal favorite of the Bazin family, especially with 10 year old daughter Grace.
Patrick Bazin was the former executive chef at Washington DC’s prestigious Occidental Grill prior to opening his first restaurant Bazin‘s on Church in March of 2006. Since opening, Bazin‘s on Church has received many awards of recognition from the dining community and the Bazins are very much a part of the Vienna community. Diners can expect the same high quality of food and service when dining at their newest restaurant Alegria.
